Isam Taha

Dr. Isam Taha is a highly accomplished Pediatric Surgery Consultant with over two decades of experience in the field. A Sudanese national, he holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Gezira, a Clinical MD in General Surgery, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery from the Sudan Medical Specialization Board, along with a Diploma in Pediatric Surgery from CGMH in Taiwan. Dr. Taha has held prestigious positions such as the Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department at Al Ribat University Hospital and has served as a consultant in various medical institutions in Khartoum and Dubai. Known for his expertise in complex pediatric surgical procedures, he is also an active clinical researcher with numerous publications. Dr. Taha is proficient in Arabic and English, enabling him to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population. 

Mahmoud Negm

Dr. Mahmoud Rashad Negm is a Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in general psychiatry and addiction. He earned his MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Göttingen, Germany, and conducted four years of research at the Neurophysiology Department of the same university. Dr. Negm completed his specialization in psychiatry, obtaining his Facharzt degree from the Asklepios Fachklinik Göttingen, affiliated with the University of Göttingen. Following his Facharzt degree, Dr. Negm was appointed as a Consultant Psychiatrist (Oberarzt) at Asklepios Fachklinik Göttingen. He has held various leadership roles, including overseeing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), and managing one of the hospital’s outpatient clinics. His extensive experience includes treating affective disorders, anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), psychotic disorders, alcohol addiction and related disorders, severe personality disorders, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and transcultural disorders. He also worked with the Network for Traumatized Refugees in Niedersachsen (NTFN) and the outpatient clinic in Göttingen, Germany. 

Naji Riachi

Dr. Riachi brings a wealth of experience from his extensive academic and administrative roles. He has served as Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs and Coordinator of the Neurology Module at Khalifa University. Additionally, he held various leadership positions at the Lebanese American University (LAU) School of Medicine, including Assistant Dean for Clinical Research, Director of the Neurology Residency Program, and Chair of the Department of Neurology. With over three decades of experience in neurology, Dr. Riachi specializes in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. He is certified by the American Board of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Riachi is also actively involved in professional societies such as the American Academy of Neurology and the Lebanese Neurological Association. 

Nisreen Mohammad Al Aamri

Dr. Nisreen Mohammad Al Aamri is a board-certified General Surgeon with 15 years of experience in Laparoscopic and General Surgery, specializing in diagnostics, procedures, and patient care for acute, emergency, and elective operations. She provides the highest quality and safest care to patients while upholding the highest standards of medical ethics. Dr. Al Aamri is known for her excellent communication skills with patients and their families and maintains respectful and collaborative relationships with her colleagues. 

Ayman W. El-Hattab

Dr. Ayman El-Hattab is a Consultant Clinical Genetics. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Medicine and Surgery from Jordan in 2002. He then continued his training in the USA and obtained the American Boards of Clinical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics. With more than 15 years of experience in the field of genetics, Dr. Ayman El-Hattab has served in various key roles throughout his career. Before joining the Burjeel family, he worked at renowned institutes in the US, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He has also served as a professor at a reputed college in Sharjah. Additionally, he is the Founder and President of the MENA Organization for Rare Diseases, Chief Author for Genetics at SimulConsult (Diagnostic Decision Support System) in Massachusetts, USA, and Consulting Editor for GeneReviews at University of Washington in Seattle, USA. Dr. Ayman El-Hattab is a member of various scientific societies and medical committees and has numerous publications to his name. He has also received various awards and achievements.

Humam Schakaki

Dr. Humam Schakaki is a skilled Consultant Pulmonologist with vast expertise from his extensive practice in Germany. He has an educational background from the Faculty of Medicine at a renowned college in Vienna, Austria. He is a Certified Specialist in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology, as well as in Sleep Medicine. With over a decade of experience in Pulmonology in Germany, Dr. Schakaki diagnoses and treats patients with a variety of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease. His expertise in interventional bronchoscopy has equipped him with valuable skills, enabling him to work with composure and efficiency. As a specialist in sleep medicine, Dr. Schakaki possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders to improve patients’ quality of life.

Gourab Sen

Dr. Gourab Sen is an experienced Consultant General and Hepatobiliary and abdominal Transplant Surgeon (Liver/Kidney/Pancreas) at Burjeel Medical City. He brings with him a vast experience from his training and consultant practice from India and the UK. He passed his MBBS from Calcutta, India, in 1993, followed by an MS in General Surgery in 1998 before moving to the UK for higher surgical training. He holds a research degree (MD) from UK. He completed higher surgical training in the North-East of England with an award of CCT from the Royal College of Surgeons. He trained as a post-CCT Fellow sponsored by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in multi-organ transplantation before becoming a Consultant Hepatobiliary and Transplant Surgeon at a renowned hospital in UK. With over 14 years of experience as a Consultant, he has vast clinical experience of performing complex liver, biliary and pancreatic surgery for cancer, including major robotic surgery. He has conducted close to 400 liver transplants and has extensive expertise in kidney and pancreas transplantation. He held several leadership roles in his career including the lead clinician for liver and pancreatic cancer for the Nort-East of England, and clinical lead for his department in the UK. He has keen interest in teaching and training and has been a faculty and organiser of several courses for training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He has an active research interest and has numerous publications under his name. Apart from these, he is also a member of various international professional societies.

Alaa Ameen Ali Saeed

Dr. Alaa Ameen Ali Saeed is a Consultant Interventional Cardiology with vast expertise in the field, drawing from extensive practice in France, the UK, and Abu Dhabi. Dr. Alaa Saeed attained his French Board in Cardiology in 2012. Also, he completed two Masters’ degrees in Echocardiography and interventional cardiology from France. His formative years as an Interventional Fellow at a renowned hospital in Paris from 2012 to 2014, equipped him with invaluable experience and expertise. As an Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Alaa Saeed is specialized to do complex coronary lesions and CTO (Chronic Total Occlusions) in addition of using various techniques in atherectomy like Rota Ablators and shockwaves. Dr. Alaa Saeed is also trained at France to do the TAVI procedure (Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Implantation) for Aortic Valve Stenosis. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Dr. Alaa Saeed has assumed pivotal leadership roles within various prestigious medical institutions. Notably, he served as the Consultant Interventional Cardiologist for a renowned institute in Abu Dhabi. Before joining Burjeel, he held the position of a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Abu Dhabi. 

Lamya Naser Ali Alsubaihi

Dr. Lamya Naser Ali AlSubaihi earned an MBBS from Lahore, Pakistan, followed by the German Board of Paediatrics and Adolescence in 2012. Additionally, she completed a Pediatric Neurology Clinical Fellowship at KK Hospital, Singapore, in 2014-2015 and obtained ASEPA-ASNA

EEG Certification in August 2015. With extensive experience in pediatric neurology, Dr. AlSubaihi has managed a wide range of chronic and acute conditions, including ICU and ER cases. Her expertise lies in Epileptology and EEG, for which she holds certification. She also performs VNS titration procedures and handles neurodevelopmental and neuromuscular cases. Furthermore, she has contributed significantly to the field with numerous research endeavors. Dr. AlSubaihi’s professional journey includes roles in various prestigious institutions, including residency and fellowship programs in Germany and Singapore. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, she was serving at a renowned institute in Abu Dhabi.

Rasha Mohammed Elzain Ali Mustafa

Dr. Rasha Mohammed Elzain Ali Mustafa is a specialist in palliative care with vast experience across multiple regions in the UAE, especially in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Beginning her professional journey as an intern in 2007, Dr. Rasha worked as a House Officer after completing her MBBS. She advanced her certifications by acquiring full membership status with the Royal College of Physicians, MRCP (UK). In 2011, Dr. Rasha started working in Oncology/Palliative Medicine. Before her current role as a palliative care specialist at Burjeel Medical City, she served in various areas, running Palliative Care clinics for symptom management and narcotic pain medicine refills, giving counseling for patients & their family members, conducting multidisciplinary meetings, etc., in Palliative Care services, etc. Dr. Rasha’s dedication to her profession shows her commitment to delivering perfect medical care with a touch of compassion.
