Dr. Claudia Marcela Aristizabal General Practitioner in ENT with advanced training in the field with over 12 years of experience. Dr. Claudia Marcela Aristizabal obtained her MBBS degree from Military University, Bogotá, Colombia. She brings a robust foundation of medical knowledge and a dedication to staying updated with the latest advancements in healthcare. With extensive experience in general and surgical practice, particularly in ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgery, she offers a high level of expertise to our institution. Dr. Claudia Marcela Aristizabal commenced her career as a General Practitioner in the ER at the Colombian Air Force in 2011. Subsequently, she served as a General Practitioner at the Colombian National Police. Additionally, she acted as a Medical Auditor and General Practitioner in the ICU at a Private Institution in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Aristizabal worked for the last 5 years at a renowned institute as a Surgical House Officer in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Claudia Marcela Aristizabal has firsthand experience in the military field, working across various departments such as insurance, outpatient, and emergency care. Her expertise includes preoperative and postoperative care, medical documentation, and clinical audit, as well as proficiency in urodynamics and conducting diagnostic cystoscopies.

Dr. Saman Qadeer is a General Practitioner ENT and Head and Neck Surgery with advanced training in the field. Dr. Saman Qadeer earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2015 from Pakistan. Since then, she has worked as a Medical Practitioner in Surgery. 

Dr. Saman Qadeer’s experience includes serving as a General Practitioner in ENT and Head and Neck Surgical Oncology in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2019, she relocated to the UAE and continued her practice in Abu Dhabi until October 2023. Dr. Basil Elhag has held the role of a general practitioner for years in Sudan and previously served as a general practitioner at a renowned hospital in Khartoum, Sudan, before joining Burjeel Medical City. With over 4 years of experience and a wide range of acquired capabilities, Dr. Basil Elhag specializes in both general surgery and emergency departments. He holds a particular interest in surgery and excels in approaching, managing, and treating surgical patients. Apart from these, he holds a membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) Part A, DOH/HAAD License, and the Sudan Medical Counsel License.

With over 7 years of profound experience in the medical field, Dr. Ammara Kanwal is serving patients with extensive care and kindness. During her profession as a House Officer from 2017 to 2018, she served in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency departments. She acquired great skill in ABC and basic life support, and handling critical medical situations. Dr. Kanwal’s exceptional expertise in the Pediatric Outpatient Department (OPD) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), especially in managing critical neonates made her one of the skilled doctors. In 2018, Dr. Kanwal started gained more experience in various areas including critical care, she further sharpened her skills that made her a fit to the field.

Dr. Jaber AlKhyeli is a distinguished Orthopaedic Surgeon with a rich educational background and extensive experience in the field. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from UAE University and completed his French board certification in Orthopaedic and Traumatology from the University Paris Diderot. Additionally, he holds sub-specialized diplomas in microsurgeries and upper limb procedures. With over 12 years of experience, Dr. AlKhyeli has held notable positions including Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Tawam Hospital, Al Jawhara Mediclinic Al Ain, and Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services before joining Burjeel Medical City. Throughout his career, he has focused on a wide range of orthopaedic surgeries, particularly emphasizing shoulder, upper limb, and knee procedures. Dr. AlKhyeli is recognized for his commitment to innovation in orthopaedic surgery. He was involved in a groundbreaking reverse shoulder surgery assisted with mixed reality headsets in Paris in 2017, showcasing his dedication to exploring the intersection of orthopaedics and technology. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to advancements in 3D printing for complex distal humerus fractures. His expertise extends to various orthopaedic subspecialties, including shoulder and knee arthroplasty reconstruction, sports arthroscopy, upper limb procedures, and trauma management. Dr. Mohamed Muath Adi brings with him a wealth of experience as a French-trained Orthopedic surgeon. His journey in orthopedic surgery began in 2010 upon completion of his MBBS. Dr. Adi completed his Orthopedic Residency Program at Strasbourg University Hospitals, France, followed by a Fellowship Program in Orthopedic Trauma and Lower Limb Arthroplasty at Louis Pasteur Hospital, Strasbourg University, France. Since his return to the Emirates in 2018, Dr. Muath has been recognized as an expert in lower limb arthroplasty and sports medicine injuries. He has contributed significantly to the healthcare community, serving as a consultant Orthopedic surgeon at prominent hospitals in the Emirates. Dr. Muath is deeply involved in education and research, serving as the President of the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction Dubai. In his new role, Dr. Muath will lead the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at BMC, focusing on skill development, recruitment of talented professionals, and furthering excellence in clinical care, research, and education.

Dr. Mohammed Osman Abdalrazig Osman is a compassionate and clinically competent General Practitioner with an extensive 11-year background in hospital and clinical settings across Sudan and Saudi Arabia. His multifaceted responsibilities include covering the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, managing outpatient clinics, overseeing the Pediatric Emergency Department, following up on admitted patients in the ward, treating individuals requiring airborne or droplet isolation in the respiratory room, and leading the team in the resuscitation room for cases demanding advanced life support. Dr. Ahmad Baha Mousa, an esteemed Orthopedic Surgeon, brings a wealth of expertise in orthopedics, particularly in sports injuries, and complex trauma. In 2004, he graduated from Damascus. After completing his surgical training in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery in Germany and obtaining the “Facharzt” title in 2013, he began his notable career as a Consultant in Orthopedics and Trauma in 2014 accumulating valuable experience in the field. Dr. Ahmad’s dedication to excellence is evident in his continuous pursuit of improvement, marked by participation in advanced training courses and conferences to enhance his proficiency in knee surgery. This commitment was acknowledged in 2022 when he received the prestigious ‘Knee Surgeon’ certificate from the German Knee Association. In 2022, Dr. Ahmad relocated to the UAE, commencing his practice in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at one of the country’s largest hospitals. In early 2024, Dr. Ahmad Baha Mousa joined our esteemed team at BMC, contributing his expertise as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon. His focus spans a broad spectrum, encompassing sports injuries, knee and shoulder treatments, and specialized care for pelvis and acetabulum fractures. Dr. Sachin Rathore is a Consultant in Anesthesia with advanced training in the field with over 16 years of experience. Dr. Rathore earned his Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in 2002 and an Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Anesthesiology in 2007. With extensive experience as a Specialist Anesthesia at various hospitals in India and Saudi Arabia, he brings a high level of expertise to our institution. He has completed advanced courses in Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) Program, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Program. Dr. Rathore has worked in prestigious institutions in the UAE, KSA, and India, including oncology centers, medical colleges, and corporate hospitals, and government hospitals in the UAE. He specializes in trauma care, burn, plastic surgery, obstetrics, and performs oral-maxillofacial surgeries, bariatric surgeries, and airway reconstruction procedures. He is known for his thorough patient evaluations, ability to develop personalized anesthesia care plans, and skills in monitoring patients’ responses and adjusting anesthetics accordingly. He actively participates in professional seminars and workshops, including anesthesia conferences.

Dr. Ahmad Jazzar has over 23 years of experience in Gastroenterology (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, and liver diseases) and interventional endoscopy, which includes upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), small bowel enterostomy, video capsule endoscopy, esophageal manometry. In 1987, he graduated from Aleppo University’s Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Jazzar completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States of America. He has held a variety of positions, including Consultant Gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Specialists of Oklahoma, Integris Liver Transplantation Hepatologist at Oklahoma Transplantation Institute in the United States of America, Assistant Professor at Aleppo University’s Faculty of Medicine, Consultant Physician and Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital, and most recently Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Jazzar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and a Member of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) (UNOS). Dr. Jazzar has delivered over 100 presentations and authored over 30 publications on a variety of topics, including colorectal polyps, viral hepatitis B and C therapy, inflammatory bowel diseases (as a member of the committee that wrote and published the first UAE consensus statement on IBD therapy in the UAE), NASH burden and treatment in the Gulf countries, and diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency.
