Dr. Al-Halwaji Al-Tantawi holds advanced qualifications and more than 19 years of experience in the field of pediatric intensive care and neonatology. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, he worked as a specialist in the famous emergency departments, neonatal intensive care unit, and pediatric intensive care units in various countries. Dr. Al-Halwaji Al-Tantawi began his professional career in 2004 in Egypt, where he worked at Mansoura Hospital for 5 years in the pediatric emergency room and the pediatric intensive care unit at the Kuwait Hospital at the Ministry of Health for 6 years, at Mafraq Hospital for a year, and then in the neonatal intensive care unit in Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi for 6 years.

Dr. Basil Elhag is a General Practitioner in IP Wards with advanced training in the field. He earned his MBBS from Khartoum, Sudan, in 2017. Bringing a wealth of experience from various renowned institutes across Sudan, he possesses a high level of expertise that enriches our institution. Dr. Basil Elhag has held the role of a general practitioner for years in Sudan and previously served as a general practitioner at a renowned hospital in Khartoum, Sudan, before joining Burjeel Medical City. With over 4 years of experience and a wide range of acquired capabilities, Dr. Basil Elhag specializes in both general surgery and emergency departments. He holds a particular interest in surgery and excels in approaching, managing, and treating surgical patients. Apart from these, he holds a membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) Part A, DOH/HAAD License, and the Sudan Medical Counsel License.

Dr. Mazin Tarig Judy is a General Practitioner in IP Wards with over 5 years of advanced training in the field. He earned his MBBS from Khartoum, Sudan, in 2017, accumulating extensive experience across various renowned institutes in Sudan. Starting as a house officer, he progressed to hold pivotal roles as a general practitioner and intensive care resident. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, he served as a general practitioner at a prestigious hospital in Sudan. Dr. Mazin Tarig Judy excels in several key areas including physical examination, emergency interventions, pain management, endotracheal intubation, fluid intake and output monitoring, and various procedures such as central line insertion, urinary catheter insertion, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and surgical suturing. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Mazin Tarig Judy possesses experience in research and auditing. He holds multiple certifications including advanced life support, basic life support, and a United States medical license.

Dr. Rawan Ayoub Suliman Mohamed is a General Practitioner for IP Wards. She obtained her bachelor’s in medicine and surgery from Sudan in 2009 and received HAAD registration in 2015 as a General Practitioner, as well as registration with the Irish Medical Council in 2021. She has successfully qualified for the first part of the membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Commencing her career as a House Officer at a renowned hospital in Sudan in 2009, she subsequently gained diverse experience in pediatric, emergency, and internal medicine departments across various hospitals. Before her tenure at Burjeel Medical City, she served as an Internal Medicine Registrar in Ireland. With over 9 years of extensive experience, Dr. Rawan Ayoub Suliman Mohamed’s areas of expertise include the management of patients with acute and chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, ischemic heart diseases, chronic kidney diseases, and emergency care to adults and children.

Dr. Ahmed Yousif is a Consultant Rheumatologist with over 16 years of experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MUDr) degree in 2004 and holds an Intercalated MSc in Medicine. Dr. Ahmed Yousif boasts several postgraduate qualifications, including a Dual CCT in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine, MRCP (Rheumatology), and a PgDip in Healthcare Management and Leadership. Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmed Yousif has held key roles in NHS hospitals in Dubai and London. His expertise spans metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, inflammatory arthritis, lupus, and more. He is well-versed in DMARDs and biologic therapy, MSK USS, and the management of various joint, neck, and back pain.  

Dr. Gagan Thakur is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Implantologist with advanced training in the field With over 14 years of experience. Dr. Gagan Thakur earned his BDS from Banglore, India in 2004. He completed his MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology from Pune, Maharashtra in 2008. He has wide experience working with renowned institutes in India, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Burjeel Medical City, he was serving a key role as Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Implantologist at a renowned institute in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Gagan Thakur’s area of expertise includes a myriad of surgical procedures ranging from implants to wisdom tooth extractions, complicated extractions, trauma management and infections of the facial spaces, minor and major surgical procedures. Besides these, Dr. Gagan is a member of the Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMFSI) and the Indian Dental Association (IDA). He also holds numerous academic publications and achievements under his name.

Dr Zainab Iqbal is a General Practitioner in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She graduated from, Pakistan in 2013 &  later went on to obtain her FCPS (Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2020. Dr. Zainab has worked as a Post Graduate Resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology in Pakistan. For Four years, she immersed herself in providing holistic care to patients, honing her surgical skills in obstetrics & gynecology procedures, and performing major surgeries with precision and compassion. Dr. Zainab Iqbal’s professional expedition found its stride in the UAE while working in Abu Dhabi in the past. As a seasoned Medical Practitioner, she brings over 9 years of invaluable experience to her patients, managing a diverse array of medical cases with a holistic approach. Her excellence in inpatient management, labor ward management and her adeptness in obstetrics & gynecology surgeries shone brightly.

Dr. Wissam Al Sahli is a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist who graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 2002 with a medical degree. He completed residency training in internal medicine and cardiology in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In 2005, he obtained his Membership from the prestigious Royal College of Physicians, and in 2011, he received his CCST in Interventional Cardiology. He completed his Interventional Fellowship at the Dorset Heart Center in the United Kingdom. He worked as a Consultant at St. Vincent University Hospital in Ireland before relocating to the UAE. Dr. Wissam’s primary areas of expertise in Cardiology are complex coronary intervention, pacemaker insertion, defibrillator insertion, valvular heart disease, and hypertension. Dr. Wissam Al Sahli has performed over 6500 cardiac surgeries.

Dr. Safaa Fadel, the Specialist in Family Medicine has more than 12 years of clinical experience across various hospitals in Egypt and UAE. She has completed MBBS from Sohag University, Egypt in 2010 and MRCGP – International Membership of Royal college for Family Medicine in November 2018. Dr. Safaa has completed International Interprofessional Wound Care Course Diploma from IIWCC – Toronto University in 2021. Dr. Safaa is a member of Royal College of General Practitioners in UK. Dr. Safaa was working with Medeor, Abu Dhabi since 2015 before joining Burjeel Medical City and has also worked in many reputable institutions in the Egypt before moving to UAE. Dr. Safaa’s skills encompass essential medical techniques ranging from history taking and physical examinations to more specialized procedures such as intravenous access, arterial puncture, and Foley catheter insertion. She also covers various diagnostic and treatment procedures like digital nerve blocks, ECG interpretation, and CPR, as well as interventions like skin lesion excision and ingrown toenail removal. She has a special interest in family medicine, women’s health, geriatric, oncology, palliative, and wound care. Her area of expertise is mainly in outpatient clinics managing acute and chronic medical conditions like URTI, Gastroenteritis, UTI Diabetes mellitus, Hypertension, gynecological conditions like vaginitis, UTI, antenatal care in uncomplicated pregnancy, wound care management.

Dr. Mohammed Ramzan is a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) specialist with over 12 years of experience. He began his medical journey in 1998, earning his M.B.B.S at B. J. Govt. Medical College in Pune, India, and later completing a residency in MD Pediatrics at J. N. Medical College. Dr. Ramzan further specialized in Pediatric Hematology Oncology and BMT with a fellowship from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and Hospital for Sick Children Toronto, Canada. Currently serving as an Consultant at Rehmat Hospital and child care in India, He has also worked as Consultant Pediatric haematologist Oncologist and BMT at Manipal Hospital Jaipur, Associate Consultant at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurgaon, Haryana, Dr. Ramzan has also worked internationally as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatrics Bone Marrow Transplant at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Ramzan’s expertise lies in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and BMT.
