Dr. Omar Layth Qassid is a Consultant Anatomic Pathology with over 12 years of experience in busy breast screening units in London and the East Midlands. He obtained his MBCHB from Iraq in 2005. Following the completion of his histopathology training in prestigious centers in London in 2015, he has been practicing as a consultant pathologist in Leicester and Northamptonshire hospitals. He has also played key roles as clinical director of Pathology, Hematology, and Oncology and the lead breast pathologist. Dr. Qassid is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in London and an international fellow of the American College of Pathologists. He currently serves as the Royal College of Pathologists’ associate international regional advisor for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He has been the lead for breast multi-disciplinary team of Kettering. Academically, Dr. Qassid is an honorary senior lecturer in cancer studies and has also written several publications and journals under his credit. His main areas of interest are skin pathology, digital pathology, teaching, and training; and he is the winner of the prestigious achievement award by the Royal College of Pathologists in 2022 for his work in digital training under the ‘iHistopathology’ channel.

Dr. Anupama Kakade is a Specialist in Internal Medicine at Burjeel Medical City. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Fatima College of Health Sciences. Before joining Burjeel medical city, she was associated with several healthcare facilities in the UAE, where she completed several training and internship programs in her field of practice within various streams, including Musculoskeletal, Sport injuries, Neurology, Pediatrics and General Medicine departments. Additionally, she is certified in Kinesiology Taping, dry needling, orthopedic manual therapy techniques and dry cupping therapy. She is skillful in maximizing rehabilitation potential by building a wide range of treatment to patients enabling them to recover from injuries.

Mariam Walid Merhi is a HAAD/DOH licensed physiotherapist. She graduated from Fatima College of Health Sciences, Abu Dhabi in 2021.  Post-graduation, she finished her 6 months internship program at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. Her area of expertise includes inpatient rehabilitation for long term care and acute cases. As well as musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and post-surgical rehabilitation cases at outpatient.  

Dr. Nermeen Said Hassanin is a Consultant Anesthesia with over 20 years of experience and advanced training. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery in Egypt, followed by a Master’s Degree in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. She also holds a Saudi Board Degree in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, obtained through a comprehensive five-year training program conducted by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.Dr. Nermeen Said Hassanin has worked in esteemed healthcare facilities spanning various specialties, including pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, regional anesthesia and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, neuro-anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia, and anesthesia for orthopedic, vascular, plastic, ENT, and general surgeries. Dr. Hala Abdulkareem has joined Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi as a Consultant in Family Medicine. She obtained MBChB in Iraq and pursued postgraduate studies in the UK. She completed the foundation training and GP vocational training scheme and attained the MRCGP, along with a certificate of completion of training. Before joining Burjeel, Dr. Hala served within the UK’s National Health Service for the last 12 years. Her areas of expertise include management of acute illnesses and chronic and long-term conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, annual health check, mental health, women’s health, chronic pain management, and dermatology.

Dr. Sonia Otsmane is a Consultant in Medical Oncology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1994 and completed her post-graduation in Medical Oncology – Hematology in 2004 from Pierre & Marie Curie Oncology Institute, France. Dr. Otsmane is a member of both ESMO & ASCO. Before joining Burjeel, Dr. Otsmane was the Medical Oncologist-Hematologist at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi and SSMC with Mayo Clinic affiliation Abu Dhabi, UAE with around 20 years of experience, Dr. Otsmane specializes in treating various subtypes of cancer including Genito-urinary Malignancies, Sarcomas, Lung Cancer, Head & Neck Cancer, Lymphomas, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and Multiple Myeloma. She also has a special interest in Breast cancer and De-novo research in treatments. She has participated in many national and international conferences and has several publications to her credit. She is also a speaker in multi international expert oncology meetings .
