Sukhant Bagdia

Dr. Sukhant Bagdia is an experienced pulmonologist with over ten years of experience in a mix of Indian, Middle East and international patient population. He has an additional specialized interest and expertise in fields of allergy and sleep disorders. He speaks English, Hindi, and Marathi language fluently. He completed his MBBS graduation from Government Medical College in Nagpur, India in year 2008. Then he moved to Seth GSMC and KEM Hospital in Mumbai, India for his MD specialization in Pulmonary Medicine and completed that in the year 2013. Then he also cleared the DNB exam for respiratory diseases in year 2014. He worked as an Associate Professor in Government Medical College for one year and involved in teaching and academic activities for post graduate students. In line with his special interest for respiratory allergies, he pursued Diploma in Asthma and Allergy from CMC Vellore endorsed by American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and Centre for Global Health, University of Colorado, USA and completed it in year 2016. Before joining Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi, he worked as a Consultant Pulmonologist in multi-specialty hospitals in Nagpur till October 2017. He shifted to UAE and worked with NMC Royal Hospital DIP for four years. He was Head of the COVID care unit and awarded multiple times for exceptional work during the pandemic. He is Member of various medical societies and has been a contributor to research and scientific papers.

Marelize Bosman

Dr. Marelize Bosman is a Pediatric Cardiologist who has been practicing for more than 15 years. She obtained her primary medical qualification (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria, followed by a Fellowship in Paediatrics from the College of Paediatricians (FCPaed). After working as a Consultant Pediatrician, she followed her passion and completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology in South Africa (Cert Cardio (SA) Paed). She is experienced in diagnosing, managing, and long-term care of neonatal and pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. She is proficient in managing patients in their illness’s acute and chronic phases from birth through adolescence. She specializes in echocardiography, electrocardiograms, in-hospital and outpatient assessment and care, interventional cardiology, pediatric palliative care, and counseling. She has been involved in screening clinics, pre-and post-op care, helping families navigate caring for children with heart disease, and working within an interdisciplinary framework to provide the best care for all heart warriors. She has a special interest in palliative care and is still involved in education about chronic medical conditions and palliative care in her home country. Dr. Marelize was an honorary lecturer in pediatrics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a coordinator for the training of pediatric fellows. She has been actively involved with teaching and training fellows and medical students in South Africa. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, Dr. Marelize Bosman served as a Pediatric Cardiologist at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, South Africa, as well as in the private sector in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.

Sahla Kallada

Dr. Sahla Kallada is a Consultant General Paediatrician with over 13 years of clinical experience in Pediatrics, including inpatient and outpatient Pediatrics. She worked in the USA for over five years and in UAE for over seven years in a leading private hospital treating a diverse patient population with complex and acute childhood illnesses, including acute asthma exacerbations, pneumonia, and various febrile illnesses and infectious diseases that need proper diagnosis and management. Bipin Thomas Prasad

Dr. Bipin Thomas Prasad is a highly skilled surgical professional with extensive experience, specializing in Acute Care Surgery, General Surgery/Surgical Oncology. He gained his MBBS Degree from the University of Pondicherry, Tami Nadu, and the post-graduate MS degree from Amrita School of Medicine, Amrita University, Kochi; he has a DMAS from the World Laparoscopy Hospital, Delhi too. His extensive knowledge lies in the domains of thyroid and breast disorders, as well as cancer surgeries. Additionally, he is adept at performing laparoscopic surgeries to remove gallbladder stones and treat upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases, cancers, and inguinal and ventral hernias. Wael Osama Elbokle

Dr. Wael holds a Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) degree and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He also has a professional qualification in endodontics and dental laser treatment from Egypt. Following his BDS, Dr. Wael pursued a specialization in implant dentistry, gaining this additional experience with a Fellowship from the prestigious American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He also holds the professional title of ‘Specialist Endodontist’ from the Egyptian Ministry of Health. He is a Lumineer Certified Dentist and a Specialist in Dental Laser Treatment, both of which he obtained from the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Ayat Jamil Al- Hawajreh

Dr. Ayat Jamil Al-Hawajreh graduated with an MBBS degree in 2007 from the University of Jordan, after which she pursued her specialization from the Jordanian Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (JBOG) in 2014. In addition to these qualifications, she has also gained the Part 1 MRCOG Certificate, Certificate of Advanced Diploma in ART and Reproductive Medicine and Diploma in (Basic to advanced) minimal invasive Surgery from university of Schleswig- Holstein Kiel, Germany in July 2021. After completing her internship in 2008, Dr. Ayat began her Residency training practice in Jordanian Royal Medical Services and Islamic Hospital in Jordan. Subsequently, she also undertook the role of an Obstetrics and Gynecology and Infertility Specialist in a renowned hospital in the same country. In 2017, Dr. Ayat moved to the UAE and served in several leading hospitals as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist. Dr. Ayat holds Membership in various societies including Jordanian Medical Association, Jordanian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fetal Medicine Foundation, and European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

Jayesh Sathenjeri Rajendra

Dr. Jayesh S. Rajendra is Burjeel Medical City’s Radiology Consultant and holds several qualifications and diverse experience in oncology-related imaging. He started his career in the oncology department of a reputed and leading multi-speciality, tertiary hospital in South India. He later acquired special qualification and experience in onco-imaging from Singapore and also received additional training in renal and liver transplant imaging during his work experience at a global-standard hospital environment in Chennai, India. A star performer at DNB qualification and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiology, Dr. Jayesh had earlier qualified with the MMed degree from the National University of Singapore. At Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Jayesh brings his vast knowledge and skills in the speciality areas of Reporting PET-CT, transplant imaging, onco-imaging, cross-section imaging and MRI. His know-how and experience enhances the hospital’s radiology capabilities to a higher level.

Maged Abu-Bakr Ahmed

Dr. Maged Abu-Bakr Ahmed completed his MBBCh degree in 2003 from the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, Egypt after which he pursued his specialization in orthopedic surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. As an upgradation to his qualifications, he is currently pursuing MD from Cairo University. He is also a candidate for the image-guided interventional pain control course – Leicester University, UK. Dr. Maged is a Member in the Program of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, for the management of mass disasters and covering the peripheral hospitals in Egypt. He has played a significant role with the Mass Disasters Control Team in war injuries in Palestine 2007 and 2008, proving his ability to work under emergency situations. From 2013- 2015, he also served as a Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon in Khoula Hospital in Muscat Oman, one of the biggest and most busy trauma centers in the Middle East. From 2006- 2012, he was doing his residency and specialization in orthopedic surgery in Nasser Institute Hospital, the biggest and most advanced tertiary hospital and the national mass disaster center in Egypt and the referral hospital for war injuries. Dr. Maged Abu-Bakr has been practicing as a Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon at various reputed hospitals in different parts of Middle East, when he re-located to the UAE in 2015, to work for Saudi German Hospital, Dubai and Al-Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi. With 18 years of clinical experience, Dr. Maged Abu-Bakr’s scope of service includes arthroscopy, arthroplasty, sports injuries, traumatic and non-traumatic joint pains, joint replacement surgeries , fractures and many more similar interventions.

Mohamed Abdulgaffar Elbaz

A member of the Royal College of Surgeons, London, UK, Dr. Mohamed Elbaz holds a Master’s degree in Orthopedics and Trauma after his basic MBBCh medical graduation. Dr. Elbaz received his MBBCh from Faculty of Medicine in Mansaura University in Egypt and completed his residency program in orthopedic and trauma from Mansaura University Hospital. He is also trained in the field of pediatric orthopedics from Great Ormond Street hospital for children in London. Earlier to this assignment, Dr. Elbaz worked in Mansaura University Hospitals as Resident in Ortho and Trauma section and as Resident – Ortho and Trauma at the West Cairo Military Hospital. Dr. Elbaz is a well-known pediatric orthopedic surgeon across UAE, treating different pediatric orthopedic diseases and congenital anomalies as well as all varieties of pediatric fractures and dislocations. He is an expert orthopedic trauma surgeon performing all kinds of internal and external fixations for different fractures along with fracture conservative management. He is an active member of Burjeel Holdings since 2015 as a Head of Orthopaedic Department in Medeor Hospital, Abu Dhabi.

Yoginee Pundlik Sonawane

Dr. Yoginee Pundlik Sonawane completed her basic medical degree from Mumbai, India and then obtained the Master’s degree (MD) in Radiation Oncology from one of Asia’s most reputed institutions in the field, the Tata Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, India. The training and experience she gained in radiotherapy applications for comprehensive cancer care at the above-mentioned institution has enabled her to be a Radiation Oncology expert and well-versed in all aspects of treatment and multi-disciplinary management of all types of cancer cases. Apart from conventional radiotherapy, Dr. Sonawane is well-trained in 3DCRT, IMRT and IGRT based treatments, total skin electron therapy, SRS/SRT/ SBRT including motion management and adaptive radiotherapy. She has successfully adopted these resourceful skills for the needs of the Radiation Oncology Department at Burjeel Medical City. Dr. Sonowane is one of the few Radiation Oncology Specialists who has had special training in IMAGE guided brachytherapy, helical tomotherapy (Hi-Art) and PET based planning in the field. She has also conducted surgical interventions under supervision for stereotactic RT, interstitial brachy for gynecology and breast cancers. Fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi, Dr. Sonowane had the opportunity to work in the medical academic arena, as Assistant Professor at various tertiary cancer care hospitals in India and participate in faculty development initiatives at two leading hospitals in Mumbai, India.
