Mohamed Hassan Nouh Abdelsamad 

Dr. Mohamed Hassan Nouh Abdelsamad is a Consultant in the Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU and PPCSU) facility at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi. Dr. Mohamed Hassan is recognized by Egyptian Medical Syndicate as a Consultant of Pediatrics. After obtaining his basic MBBCh degree from Egypt, Dr Hassan pursued an Egyptian Fellowship of Pediatrics over the next 4 years before joining the Royal Hospital, National Heart Centre in Muscat, Oman. At the Pediatric ICU, Dr Hassan attends to critical ill pediatric patients referred by the hematology, nephrology, cardiology, pediatric surgery departments and takes special interest in the cases within born errors of metabolism. Dr Mohamed Hassan is an expert in open heart (arterial switch, AVSD repair, Fallot repair, TAPVR repair, VSD, ASD repair etc.), B-T shunt, PA banding, Glenn Fontan procedures as well as in the management of cases on ECMO support, conventional ventilation (HFOV and BIVENT mode) cases on INO, and on continuous renal replacement therapy. Earlier he was Resident – Pediatrics and Specialist – Pediatrics with Egyptian Ministry of Health, Moving to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he then served the MoH there for 2 years, before re-locating to the UAE. Dr Mohamed Hassan’s professional acumen also gets upgraded periodically as he attends seminars, conferences, and training sessions in the discipline. His teaching activities of interns and residents are yet another additional asset. Dr Hassan is frequently exposed to high-pressure working conditions and can take decisions fast and guide his team to the desired goals.

Ahmed Kadry Ghazy Mohamed

Dr. Ahmed Ghazy is an expert in the stabilization and management of PICU and NICU patients, including airway management, central venous catheter, and umbilical catheter insertion, partial exchange blood transfusion, emergency intra-osseous line placement, advanced life support maneuvers, dealing with mechanical ventilator, urinary catheterization, and intercostal chest tube insertion and lumbar puncture. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, he served as a Specialist Pediatrician in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, dealing with the stabilization and management of the PICU and NICU patients, CVC and umbilical catheter insertion, and partial exchange blood transfusion.

Hany Alrefaey Alhendawy

Dr. Hany Alhendawy is a Specialist Pediatrician with 12 years of work experience in the field of pediatrics of which more than the last 3 years are in UAE, Egypt, he has worked in both Government and private hospitals. His key areas of interest include treatment of asthma disorders in children, managing infectious diseases in children, respiratory, gastrointestinal, kidney and urinary tract problems, general pediatric problems, newborn care and follow up, growth and development monitoring and immunization. He has also completed various courses in advanced pediatric and neonatal life support and pediatric critical care.

Raja Muhammad Irfan

Dr. Raja Muhammad Irfan qualified his MBBS in 1996 from Sindh Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan. His medical training in UK, UAE, and Pakistan includes basic life support, pediatric advance life support, advance cardiac life support, immediate life support, ALERT course, and surgical skills workshop. Since 2009, he worked as a General Practitioner in several large private hospitals in Abu Dhabi and has covered medical cases in various units such as emergency, intensive care, and critical care. Dr. Raja has clinical attachments with NHS Hospitals in UK such as Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, Kings Mill Hospital, and Airedale General Hospital.

Abhishek Wadhawan

Dr. Abhishek Wadhawan has eight years of rich experience in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. He worked at ESI Medical College, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Park Super Specialty Hospital, and Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Center in India before moving to the UAE. His primary areas of interest are neuro anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, GI, robotic surgery, pediatric, orthopedic, and trauma surgery, and joint replacement surgery. He is experienced in labor epidurals, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, complex airway management, handling trauma, and emergency care. He specializes in critical care medicine with antibiotic stewardship, POCUS, echocardiography screening, and ARDS.

Murali Shankar

Dr. Murali Shankar is a Consultant Anesthesiologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He earned his MD from JJM Medical College in Devanagari, Karnataka, which is affiliated with India’s Rajiv Gandhi Health University. Dr. Murali is an expert in surgery but is especially good at neuro-anesthesia, obstetrics, plastic and maxillofacial surgery, and awake craniotomy.

Salah Elashmawy

Dr. Salah is a Specialist Anesthetist with 35 years of work experience in the UAE and the Middle East. He received his MS in Anesthesia and MBBCH from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He worked for five years at Ain Shams University Hospital in Egypt, more than ten years at the Armed Forces Hospital in Saudi Arabia, and ten years at Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Salah has extensive clinical experience in all areas of anesthesia, including pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, neurological cases, cardiothoracic patients, organ transplants, orthopedics, major trauma and resuscitation, spinal and epidural anesthesia, minimally invasive surgeries, and otolaryngology. Dr. Salah has much experience dealing with pain, especially after surgery. He does this by using multimodal analgesia, which reduces the need for opioids and makes the patient feel better after surgery.

Fadwa Al Hammadi

Dr. Fadwa Al Hammadi has 7 years experience in Emergency Medicine. Her expertise includes critical care support, wound management with basic & advanced suturing skills, dental and eye emergencies. Prior to joining Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, Dr. Fadwa Al Hammadi served as Resident, Emergency Medicine at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi. She started her career as an Intern at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain, UAE.

Abeer Abd El Mageed

Dr. Abeer Abd El Mageed is a specialist in the Department of Pediatrics, Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi. With an experience of more than three decades, Dr. Abeer is highly skilled in the management of critical pediatric cases in ER such as epileptic fits and febrile convulsion, managing DKA, septic, anaphylactic and hypovolemic shock, oro-gastric, naso-gastric tube insertion, and gastric lavage with or without activated charcoal, among others. Prior to joining Burjeel Medical City, she was serving as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Pediatrics at Kings College Hospital, NHS Trust, UK. Dr. Abeer holds licenses from DOH, GMC, Saudi Commission for Health Sub-specialties and from MOH Abu Dhabi. She is Proficient in Arabic and English.

Thandava Phanikrishna Gudiseva

Dr. Thandava Phanikrishna has more than 10 years of work experience in the medical field of emergency department in UAE and India. He received his MBBS from KMC, Manipal, India followed by specialty training in emergency medicine in AIMS, Kochi, India. After which he started work in Hyderabad at Yashoda Hospitals, where he helped to establish an emergency department and start MEM and DNB emergency medicine courses. In the year of 2014, Dr. Thandava Moved to UAE and joined UAE military, followed by TAWAM hospital in the emergency departments.
